Check-out Policies

Check-out period: two weeks for all materials except DVDs. DVDs may be checked out for one week each.
Checkout Limits: fifty items may be checked out per family card. Of those fifty items-eight can be DVDs!
Due date notices by email, text or phone: log-on to your library account and go to "My Account" to sign up for notices about upcoming due dates.

Late fines: 20 cents per day per item.
Maximum fine on any overdue item is $5.
Lost books: You are responsible for paying the cost of the item at the time the library purchased it. If you locate the item within six months of the date it was paid for and the item is in good condition, the replacement cost will be refunded to you.

Renewing books: log on to our online catalog to renew books from home. Books can be renewed from "My Account".
Renewal limits: books can be renewed twice if they are not on reserve. Movies, Bluebonnet & Lone Star books cannot be renewed.

To reserve books: log-on to our online catalog to reserve items from home.
Reserves are not instantaneous. You will need to wait for notification
Books are held for two days, including the day you are notified.
Reserve limits: there is a limit of ten reserved items with no more than five DVD reserves per family card.
To cancel reserves: log-on to your library account to cancel reserved items you no longer wish to receive.
Going out-of-town? Log-on to your library account to defer your notification of reserves on specific dates you are unavailable. Mark off every day that you do not wish to have reserves held.
Bluebonnet and Lone Star books cannot be reserved.

Books and articles can be requested from libraries around the country. Visit the Information Desk if you need a book we don't have.

We have book drops at both libraries so you can return items at any time. At Westbank, one is outside, to the left of the main door, the other is in our front parking lot. At Laura's there's a book drop in the drive through lane and a walk-up next to the front door. All library items can be returned to either location.
