Read with a Library Dog!

Thanks to Westbank Library dog lover Susan Bushart and Divine Canines we have our very own Library Dogs. But why? What can they do?

Our Library Dogs like to read with children. Let's put it this way, they love children, the touch, the snuggles, and the sound of being read to, however tentatively. They make no judgments about the quality of anyone's reading, they just relax into it and listen for all they are worth.

What's that worth to your shy reader? Growing confidence and competence! The Library Dogs website, with which we are not affiliated, can help you fill in the pieces. This Divine Canine You Tube video might rock your world!

Is your child a kindergartner through a 3rd grader, reading at least a bit on her own, and interested in reading to a Library Dog?

Your email address or phone number
Your library card number
Your child's first name
The Library Dogs are available on the following days. Select your preferred day.	January 17th January 31st February 14th February 28th I would like to schedule an alternate day.
The Reading Sessions are for 20 minutes. Select the time you would prefer.	4:00-4:20 4:20-4:40 4:40-5:00 I would like to schedule an alternate time.
We love being able to show happy children and dogs together, may we take a photograph and use it in connection with the Westbank Libraries or Divine Canines? We'll be happy to send it to you as well!	Yes No
