Laura's Library opened Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 2:00 with great fanfare. From Color Guard to bronze statues, Veterans Courtyard to fluttering ribbons, all highlighted by the presence of Mrs. Bush, 1,000 people celebrated the Grand Opening of Laura's Library.

Want to see some hi-resolution pictures of the Opening that you can print? These are all under a Creative Commons Copyright which will allow you to print anyone you like as long as you give attribution to the library and the photographer, don't use it commercially, and don't change it in any way.
The Westbank Community Library now has two locations. Both the Westbank and Laura's will share all the books, DVDs, and materials in the collection- we'll make the books travel up and down Bee Cave so you won't have to! More than that, our staff will travel between locations as well so your favorite librarian is always within reach.
Of course each library will also have a few special features. Laura's Library offers a drive-through pick-up window. Get your books fast without having to unbuckle that sleeping child!
Laura's Library also contains the Scott Thornton Commons. As a bigger meeting room with much more parking that can be closed off from the main library, the Commons will be available for business and social functions outside of library hours.
The Westbank Library will continue to host our collection of large print books. Certainly you'll be able to reserve these through the catalog and have them delivered to Laura's Library, but if you want to browse, come east!
Our fantastic Book Sale Room will also remain at the Westbank Library near the library's book processing center. Bring your donations here or just come on in to shop!
