The Westbank Library was the very first Library District in Texas! A Library district is a legally defined area with a percentage of collected sales taxes going to support the local library.

District Meetings

The Westbank Library hosts a biannual meeting of librarians and trustees from Texas Library Districts each January and July. These meetings include presentations by various districts and libraries on topics of interest as well as continuing education on finance and investments. The next one is scheduled for July 11, 2008.
