The Westbank Library is proud to announce that we are the recipients of the American Library Association's most prestigious award, the 2010 John Cotton Dana Award for public relations. We're delighted that the ALA has given the Library such recognition for our three year effort to build, and fund, a new library while keeping to our mission: One Library; Two Locations.
Director Beth Fox and Trustee Lyle Thormann were on-site to receive the JCD Award at the American Library Association Conference in Washington DC on Sunday, June 27th. They were honored at a cocktail reception and are bringing home a plaque for all of us. (Lisa Charbonnet, the Branch Librarian, was laid ow with a bad knee- Beth took her along in effigy!)
The JCD entry itself is in the form of a scrapbook, 13" x 9", a size incompatible with easy copying. Accordingly, we've taken pictures and then loaded them into a Powerpoint presentation. It may take a moment to download, but it chronicles our entire public relations effort for 2007-2009.
